Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi Öğrencilerinde Bazı Sosyodemografik Özelliklerin ve Empati Düzeyinin Toplumsal Cinsiyet Algısı ile İlişkisi

Bu çalışmada spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerinde bazı sosyodemografik özelliklerin ve empati düzeyinin toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ile ilişkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı tipteki araştırma Ekim-Kasım 2020 tarihleri arasında Balıkesir Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesinde öğrenim gören, araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden ve anketi tamamlayan 305 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın verileri Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Empati Düzeyi Belirleme Ölçeği ve Toplumsal Cinsiyet Algısı Ölçeği’nin yer aldığı online anket ile toplanmıştır. Veri analizinde sayı, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, Student’s t testi, Mann Whitney U testi, ANOVA testi, Kruskal Wallis H testi ve çok değişkenli doğrusal regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Anlamlılık düzeyi olarak p<0,05 kabul edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin Toplumsal Cinsiyet Algısı Ölçeği puan ortalaması 85,07±16,08’dir. Sosyodemografik özelliklerin ve empati düzeyinin modele alındığı çok değişkenli doğrusal regresyon analizinde cinsiyetin toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ile negatif, empati düzeyinin ise pozitif ilişkili olduğu saptanmıştır (p<0,05). Bu araştırmada kadınların erkeklere göre daha pozitif toplumsal cinsiyet algısına sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir ve empati düzeyi arttıkça pozitif toplumsal cinsiyet algısı da artmaktadır. Öğrencilerde empati düzeyinin ve pozitif toplumsal cinsiyet algısının arttırılmasına yönelik eğitimler planlanabilir ve müfredata bu konulara yer veren dersler eklenebilir.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship some socio-demographic characteristics and empathy level with gender perception in faculty of sports sciences students. The descriptive study was conducted with 305 students who were study at Balıkesir University Faculty of Sport Sciences between October and November 2020, accepted to participate in the study and completed the questionnaire. The data were collected by online questionnaire which included Personal Information Form, Empathy Level Scale and Perception of Gender Scale. In the statistical analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, standart deviation, Student’s t test, Mann Whitney U test, ANOVA test, Kruskal Wallis H test and multivariate linear regression analysis were used and significance level was p <0.05. The mean score of the students obtained from the Perception of Gender Scale was 85.07±16.08. In the multivariate linear regression analysis in which sociodemographic characteristics and empathy level were included in the model, it was found that the increase in female sex and empathy level was associated with positive gender perception. In this study, it was determined that women have a more positive gender perception than men and as the empathy level increases, the positive gender perception also increases. Courses can be planned to increase the level of empathy and positive gender perception in students and courses that include these topics can be added to the curriculum.
